  Dr. Vanpelt is a very nice woman. I unfortunately had a bad experience with her. I had breast reconstruction surgery with her after a mastectomy. She ruptured an expander on accident in the office, and after the replacement I ended up with two infections after. The culture that they took during surgery to replace the ruptured expander came back with an infection and nobody noticed for 11 days(when I came in for my post op appt). I was put on oral antibiotics. A couple weeks later the infection put me in the hospital and then home health care after. This was incredibly expensive and I had to pay a lot out of pocket. I have since had my implants and have been in constant pain for awhile now. I went and seen her and got a second opinion from her partner. Both gave me two different causes and not really a plan moving forward. I am incredibly disappointed in my care and my results from the reconstruction. I now will have to get a revision to correct all of my concerns prior to the implants and figure out how to fix the constant pain.Due the care I received, I would not recommend this Dr.
